Algiers, July 26, 2025 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Mr. Khatri Adouh, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua to Algeria, Mr. Carlos Eduardo Díaz Mouriera.
The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them in various fields. It also explored prospects for joint work in several programs and future activities, including the participation of Nicaraguan delegations.
The two sides addressed the current international situation amid ongoing regional and global transformations.
The Sahrawi Ambassador briefed his Nicaraguan counterpart on the latest developments in the Sahrawi issue and the international support and solidarity it enjoys. He highlighted the situation in the occupied territories, where the Sahrawi people continue to face repression, human rights violations, persecution, and a suffocating blockade by the Moroccan occupation authorities. He stressed the role of the international community in protecting Sahrawi civilians and allowing parliamentary observers, human rights organizations, and journalists to visit the occupied territories.
For his part, the Nicaraguan Ambassador reiterated his country's support for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence. He pointed to the widespread backing of the Sahrawi cause in Latin America as a decolonization issue, emphasizing that all freedom-loving people around the world must stand with the Sahrawi people everywhere until the full liberation and independence of the Sahrawi Republic is achieved.
