Shaheed El Hafed, 29 July 2026 (SPS) – The member of the National Secretariat, President of the National Council, Mr. Bashir Mustapha Sayed, has sent a congratulatory message to Ms. Boufdache Khalida on the occasion of her election as Speaker of the Algerian People's National Assembly for its tenth legislative term.
On his own behalf and on behalf of the members of the National Council, Mr. Bashir Mustapha Sayed extended his sincere congratulations and best wishes to Ms. Boufdache Khalida, wishing her every success in carrying out her responsibilities in a manner that serves sisterly Algeria and strengthens its democratic process and constitutional institutions.
The President of the National Council stated that her election to this high office reflects the confidence placed in her and underscores the prominent position she holds in Algeria's political and institutional life. He also expressed his heartfelt wishes for her success in fulfilling her national responsibilities.
On this occasion, Mr. Bashir Mustapha Sayed reaffirmed the Sahrawi National Council's pride in the deep-rooted fraternal and historic ties between the Sahrawi and Algerian peoples, as well as the relations of cooperation and solidarity that unite the two legislative institutions, founded on a shared destiny and common principles. He also praised Algeria's steadfast support for the Sahrawi people's right to freedom, self-determination, and independence.
He further expressed the National Council's aspiration to continue strengthening cooperation and coordination with the Algerian People's National Assembly and to broaden the scope of joint parliamentary action in a manner that serves the interests of both brotherly peoples. He highlighted the importance of enhancing consultation and coordination within regional, continental, and international parliamentary forums in support of the values of justice, international legitimacy, and peace.
