Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), 26 July 2026 (SPS) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, arrived in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on Saturday to participate in the 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, scheduled to take place on 28 and 29 July.
The Minister was received in the VIP lounge of Bole International Airport by Melaku Banda, Director-General of Protocol at the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Sahrawi Republic had previously participated in the 52nd Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives' Committee (PRC), represented by its Permanent Representative to the African Union, Lamine Baali, together with staff of the Sahrawi Permanent Mission in Addis Ababa. The session was held from 3 to 26 June.
The meeting of African Union foreign ministers is expected to examine the report submitted by the 52nd Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives' Committee, in addition to discussing a number of other reports.
