Nairobi (Kenya), 18 June 2026 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic is participating in the Second Summit of the Forum of African Chief Justices on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on 18–19 June 2026, at the invitation of Kenya’s Chief Justice, Justice Martha Koome.

The summit follows up on the first summit, which was hosted in Kampala, Uganda, on 5–6 March 2024. That meeting resulted in Recommendation No. 16, which called for the establishment of a Forum of African Chief Justices on Alternative Dispute Resolution.

In line with this recommendation, the African Chief Justices Alternative Dispute Resolution Forum (ACJADRF) was established. The forum brings together the heads of supreme judicial institutions in African countries—courts that serve as the highest judicial authority in their respective states and are responsible for upholding constitutional supremacy, adjudicating presidential election disputes, harmonizing judicial jurisprudence, reviewing the constitutionality of laws, and protecting fundamental rights. The forum aims to contribute to the restructuring and modernization of Africa’s justice systems.

Representing the Sahrawi Republic at the forum are Abieh Salahi, Head of International Relations at the Sahrawi Constitutional Council, accompanied by the Sahrawi Ambassador to Kenya, Mohamed Limam Mohamed Ali Sidi El Bachir.
