Paris, May 1, 2026 (SPS) – The Sahrawi diaspora in France, alongside the French solidarity movement supporting the just cause of the Sahrawi people, actively participated in the May Day demonstrations organized by trade unions across several regions of the country.

On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, large marches were observed, particularly in the Paris region, as well as in Bordeaux and Toulouse, where the Sahrawi presence stood out through strong messages in support of the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.

The Sahrawi flag was raised alongside other trade union and international banners, symbolizing solidarity between social struggles and the fight for justice and freedom. Placards denouncing the injustice suffered by the Sahrawi people were widely visible throughout the marches, attracting the attention of demonstrators and the general public.

In this context, Sahrawi activists and their French supporters distributed informational leaflets aimed at raising awareness among participants about the situation in Western Sahara and mobilizing greater support for this just cause.

This participation is part of the ongoing efforts of the Sahrawi diaspora in France and its allies to strengthen the international visibility of the Sahrawi issue and advocate for respect for the legitimate rights of the Sahrawi people.
