Ambassador Ubbi Boushraya Bashir received by Namibian President

Windhoek (Namibia), April 29, 2026 (SPS) – At the Presidential Palace in the capital Windhoek, Her Excellency Ms. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, received Tuesday Mr. Ubbi Boushraya Bashir, Special Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of natural resources and legal affairs, in his capacity as Special Envoy of the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali.

Ubbi Boushraya Bashir conveyed to the Namibian leader a special message from his Sahrawi counterpart, which included a briefing on the latest developments in the Sahrawi issue, reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries, and expressed the shared desire to develop and advance them to new horizons.

The Special Advisor to the Sahrawi President was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic accredited to the Republic of Namibia, Mr. Hamdi Mayara.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah welcomed the visit of the Special Envoy, considering it a renewed confirmation of the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries. She also expressed her appreciation for the continued exchange of views on developments related to the decolonization process led by the United Nations.

For his part, Mr. Ubbi Boushraya conveyed the deep gratitude of President Brahim Ghali and the Sahrawi people to Namibia for its steadfast support, noting that this position reflects the country’s firm commitment to the fundamental values of African unity, justice, and the liberation of all peoples.

He also briefed the President on the latest developments concerning Western Sahara, reaffirming the strong ties between the two countries.
