Berlin (Germany), April 28, 2026 (SPS) – The Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Germany, Ms. Alice Mashingaidze, received today, Tuesday, the representative of the Polisario Front in Germany, Ambassador Mohamed El-Mamoun Ahmed Ibrahim, as part of a bilateral meeting that discussed the latest political developments related to the decolonization issue in Western Sahara, particularly at the level of the United Nations and the European Union.
The two sides also exchanged views on ways to support international efforts aimed at finding a just and lasting solution to the Sahrawi issue, in line with relevant international legitimacy resolutions and ensuring the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.
The Sahrawi Ambassador expressed the appreciation of the Sahrawi people and their political leadership for Zimbabwe’s principled and historic position, praising its role in supporting just causes, foremost among them the struggle of the Sahrawi people.
For her part, Ambassador Mashingaidze reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s firm position in support of the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, stressing her country’s principled commitment to continue supporting the Sahrawi people’s struggle to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination.
This meeting comes within the framework of ongoing coordination and consultation between the Sahrawi Republic and the Republic of Zimbabwe, further strengthening the diplomatic and fraternal relations between the two countries since 1980.
