Tiflet 2 (Morocco), April 13, 2026 (SPS) – The Sahrawi civilian prisoner, a member of the Gdeim Izik group, Sidi Abdallah Abbahah, currently held in Tiflet 2 local prison in Morocco, has begun today, Monday, a 48-hour warning hunger strike, on Monday and Tuesday.

The reasons behind this warning hunger strike are to denounce all the degrading treatment he is subjected to inside the prison, and to protest the prison administration’s silence regarding repeated assaults by common-law inmates, in addition to his lack of access to justice.

Through this protest action, the Sahrawi civilian prisoner also aims to shed light on the catastrophic detention conditions he endures inside the prison, despite numerous complaints submitted by his family.

In light of the above information regarding the warning hunger strike and the risks it poses to the prisoner’s physical and psychological well-being, his family renews its appeal to all international organizations concerned with human rights and the defense of the rights and dignity of political prisoners to work to ensure that he is granted the necessary protection inside the prison.
