Shaheed El Hafed, April 4, 2026 (SPS) – The Secretary-General of the National Union of Sahrawi Women (NUSW) and Chairwoman of the National Preparatory Committee, Shaba Seini, held Saturday at the headquarters of the Media Archive, a press conference addressing the ongoing preparations for the 10th Congress of Sahrawi Women, named after the martyr Khadija Hamdi.
At the outset of the conference, which was attended by national media outlets, the Secretary-General highlighted that this congress represents an opportunity for Sahrawi women to reflect on the achievements made across various fields, evaluate the path of their struggle, and chart new prospects to strengthen the national struggle and achieve its objectives.
Shaba Seini pointed out that preparations for the congress began three months ago under the supervision of the National Preparatory Committee, from which several specialized subcommittees were formed, all of which have made significant efforts to ensure the success of this important national event.
The Secretary-General also revealed that numerous national and international delegations will participate in the 10th Congress of the Union.
It is worth noting that the congress will take place on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd of this month in the wilaya of Smara, Sahrawi refugee camps, under the slogan: “Sahrawi Women: Resilience and Sacrifice for Independence and Freedom.”
