University of Tifariti, March 23, 2026 (SPS) – The Rector of University of Tifariti, Mr. Moulay Emhamed Ibrahim, was received by the Rector of University of Zaragoza, Professor Rosa Bolea, at the university’s headquarters, in the presence of her deputies and the official in charge of cooperation at the university.
The Rector of University of Tifariti gave a comprehensive briefing about the university and the role it plays in the field of higher education, training, and academic diplomacy to defend and promote the just struggle of the Sahrawi people. He also highlighted the essential role of international universities in promoting solidarity and supporting law and justice.
For her part, the Rector of University of Zaragoza expressed her full support for University of Tifariti and her readiness to provide all forms of assistance in order to help it achieve its objectives and future plans, which will undoubtedly contribute to supporting the Sahrawi people.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between University of Tifariti and University of Zaragoza. The agreement focuses on exchanging expertise and experiences, organizing exchange visits for professors, researchers, and students, and holding scientific conferences and conferences addressing different aspects of the Sahrawi people’s struggle. It also encourages students and researchers to address the Sahrawi issue in their research and graduation theses.
The delegation from University of Tifariti is also expected to hold technical meetings with several deans of faculties and institutes at University of Zaragoza to develop a future work plan.
The Rector of University of Tifariti is accompanied on this visit by Mr. Mohamed Saeed from the university’s Department of External Relations.
