Tindouf (Algeria), March 13, 2026 (SPS) – A strategic partnership agreement has been signed between the National Union of Algerian Women and the National Union of Sahrawi Women, within the framework of strengthening joint cooperation between the two organizations, consolidating bridges of solidarity, exchanging expertise and experiences, and working to develop and enhance the capacities of Sahrawi women and empower them in various fields.
During the ceremony, the Secretary-General of the National Union of Sahrawi Women delivered a speech on the occasion, expressing her sincere thanks and appreciation to those responsible for organizing the event. She praised the pioneering role played by Algerian women within the institutions of the Algerian State and their significant contributions to the process of national construction and development.
She also highlighted the journey of Sahrawi women, marked by dedication and sacrifices in defense of their just national cause. She stressed that Sahrawi women have, over decades of struggle and resilience, represented a unique model of national commitment, being present in various arenas of struggle and contributing effectively to serving their society as well as to the battle for liberation and nation-building.
Shaba Seini also addressed the serious human rights violations faced by Sahrawi women in the occupied territories at the hands of the Moroccan Makhzen, amid a systematic media blackout and international silence that raises concern and condemnation. She affirmed that the steadfastness of Sahrawi women will remain one of the pillars of the ongoing struggle for freedom and self-determination.
She concluded her speech by emphasizing that this partnership represents a qualitative step toward strengthening joint women's action and consolidating the values of solidarity among women, in a way that serves just causes and reinforces women’s presence and role in the paths of liberation and nation-building.
