Bern (Switzerland), March 6, 2026 (SPS) – The Polisario Front Representative to Switzerland, the United Nations, and international organizations in Geneva, Ms. Najat Handi, was received on Thursday by members of the Group of Friends of the Sahrawi People in the Swiss Parliament at the Parliament headquarters in the Swiss capital, Bern.
The Sahrawi representative provided her hosts with a briefing on the latest developments concerning the Sahrawi issue and informed them about the efforts undertaken by the Polisario Front to seek a just and lasting solution that guarantees the Sahrawi people's inalienable right to self-determination.
During the meeting, the Sahrawi diplomat also stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between the Swiss Parliament and the Sahrawi Parliament through communication, exchanges of visits, and meetings.
She further informed the Swiss lawmakers about the human rights crisis amid the alarming rise in violations and retaliatory acts carried out by Moroccan occupation forces against Sahrawi civilians, activists, and journalists, as well as the prevention of access to the territory for observers, human rights organizations, and international bodies.
For their part, members of Parliament reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the just struggle of the Sahrawi people to obtain their legitimate rights.
