Kampala (Uganda), February 27, 2026 (SPS) – Mr. Nafie Rais presented his credentials today, Friday, to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sahrawi Republic to Uganda.
During the meeting, President Museveni reiterated his steadfast support for the Sahrawi people and their legitimate right to freedom and independence.
For his part, the Sahrawi ambassador conveyed to the Ugandan President the greetings of his brother, President Brahim Ghali, as well as the gratitude of the Sahrawi people for Uganda’s consistent and supportive stance toward the Sahrawi cause in all international forums.
The ambassador also briefed President Museveni on the latest developments regarding the Sahrawi issue, reaffirming the Sahrawi people’s firm commitment to their inalienable right to self-determination and independence.
