President Abdelmadjid Tebboune reaffirms Algeria’s continued support for Sahrawi cause

Algiers, 31 December 2025 (SPS) – The President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, reaffirmed Tuesday in Algiers, Algeria’s continued support for just causes in the world, foremost among them the Palestinian and Sahrawi causes.

In his address to the nation before the two chambers of the Algerian Parliament at the Palace of Nations in Club des Pins, he said: “Regarding the question of Western Sahara, we call for respecting the will of peoples and consulting them,” explaining that “when peoples demand independence, they must be respected, and we are concerned with international law, which guarantees respect for the right of peoples to self-determination.”
