Sahrawi civilian prisoner suffers poisoning in Moroccan prison

Kenitra (Morocco), 16 December 2025 (SPS) – The Sahrawi civilian prisoner, Mr. Abdullah Lakhfaouni, has suffered a case of poisoning in Kenitra prison, according to the Sahrawi Prisoners’ Protection League, citing the prisoner’s family.

According to the same source, Abdullah Lakhfaouni suffered food poisoning resulting from poor nutrition and negligence.

Lakhfaouni’s family confirmed to the Prisoners’ Protection League that he has developed health complications, including vomiting blood, diarrhea, nausea, and severe dizziness, without receiving any medical follow-up or first aid to assess the seriousness of the poisoning he suffered inside the prison.
