Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs received by South African President

Pretoria (South Africa), 12 December 2025 (SPS) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, was received Friday by South African President, H. E. Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, in his capacity as a special envoy from the President of  the Republic, Secretary-General of the POLISARIO Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali.

During the meeting, Mohamed Yelem Beissat delivered a message from President Brahim Ghali to President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The meeting, which took place at the residence of the South African President, was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms. Thandi Moraka, along with senior officials from the South African presidency and foreign ministry.

On the Sahrawi side, the meeting was attended by Mr. Moulay Mohamed Fadel, Chargé d’Affaires of the Sahrawi Embassy in Pretoria.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the Sahrawi official to deliver the presidential message and brief the South African President on the latest developments in the Sahrawi people’s struggle and their just cause, in addition to discussing key issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen and elevate bilateral relations.

It is worth recalling that the Sahrawi Republic and the Republic of South Africa maintain special relations characterized by friendship, solidarity, and a distinguished partnership that has spanned decades, built during years of common struggle against colonialism, apartheid, and foreign occupation.
