Shaheed El Hafed, October 20, 2025 (SPS) – The representative of the Algerian General Union of Workers (UGTA), Mr. Abdeljelil Bouhi, reaffirmed his union’s full and principled support for the struggle of Sahrawi workers in their pursuit of the right to self-determination, guaranteed by international legitimacy and forming the foundation of justice and peace in the region.
In his speech marking the National Day of Sahrawi Workers, the UGTA representative emphasized that Sahrawi workers — “the sons of a revolution that liberated the human being before liberating the land” — stand firm in their just struggle for independence and the building of a free and sovereign Sahrawi state.
Mr. Bouhi also declared the UGTA’s commitment to strengthening the presence of the Sahrawi cause within global trade union networks, through continuous engagement with international organizations and the construction of labor alliances that reflect growing awareness of the justice of the Sahrawi cause. He added that efforts would continue to secure solidarity positions from workers’ unions in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, ensuring that the voice of the free Sahrawi worker is heard in every forum.
