Luanda (Angola), October 16, 2025 (SPS) – The President of Angola, Mr. João Lourenço, reaffirmed his support for the Sahrawi people and their full right to sovereignty over the territory of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
In a speech to the nation marking the opening of the 2025/2026 parliamentary year, and while addressing his country’s foreign policy, President Lourenço reiterated Angola’s unwavering support for the Sahrawi people and their legitimate right to full sovereignty.
President Lourenço further called for lifting the economic blockade imposed on Cuba, ensuring full sovereignty over Western Sahara, and achieving a two-state solution as a prerequisite for a final settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
