Algiers, August 27, 2025 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, was received by his counterpart, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, at the latter's ministerial department headquarters in Algiers.
According to a statement from the Algerian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers consulted and coordinated on the developments in the Western Sahara issue on the diplomatic front, in light of the recent report issued by the United Nations Secretary-General, which is currently before the General Assembly.
The statement added that support was reaffirmed for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy. These efforts aim to enable the Sahrawi people to exercise their inalienable and imprescriptible right to self-determination, in accordance with what has been affirmed by the resolutions of international legitimacy.
Attending the meeting on the Sahrawi side, alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, were the Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria, a member of the National Secretariat, Khatri Adouh, and the First Secretary at the Embassy in Algiers, Mohamed Sheikh. On the Algerian side, officials from the Algerian Foreign Ministry were present.
