
Shaheed Al-Hafed, August 20, 2025 (SPS) - The Prime Minister, member of the National Secretariat, Mr. Bushraya Hammoudi Beyoun, is participating on behalf of the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, in the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) Summit, hosted by the Japanese city of Yokohama from August 20 to 22.
The Prime Minister will attend the opening session of the TICAD 9 Summit, which will be held in the presence of the Japanese Prime Minister and the heads of state and government of African countries.
Held under the slogan "Cooperating to Find Innovative Solutions with Africa" in Yokohama, the summit will discuss three major new themes, the most important of which are mechanisms to support joint programs for human resources development between Africa and Japan, such as the ABE 4.0 initiative. This is a scholarship program in Japan that provides qualified young African men and women opportunities to pursue graduate studies in Japanese universities as international students and gain experience through internships at Japanese companies. The aim is to develop their skills and knowledge in various fields and contribute to the growth of industries in their African countries.
The Prime Minister is accompanied at the summit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Affairs, Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, and the Ambassador Permanent Representative to the African Union, Lamine Baali.
