Boumerdès, August 4, 2025 (SPS) – Algerian academic Dr. Souileh Boujemaa, member of the Algerian National Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, stated during his address at the Summer University for Executives of the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi State at Mohamed Bougara University in Boumerdès that the Sahrawi cause rests on clear legal foundations as a decolonization issue under international law—a law that requires protection in the face of Security Council dominance by powers with colonial pasts.

The lecturer emphasized that the international legitimacy enshrined in UN General Assembly Resolution 14/15, like other UN resolutions, needs defenders in a world marked by double standards, delays, and backroom dealings when addressing just causes.

"Today, we have the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), yet it remains silent despite clear international recognition supported by rulings from international, African, and European courts—all while systematic plunder of Sahrawi natural resources continues," he noted.

Stressing the futility of negotiations in enforcing international law, Dr. Boujemaa asserted: "The resumption of armed struggle has become the undeniable reality that colonialism understands."
