Boumerdès, August 4, 2025 (SPS) – The Ambassador of Nicaragua to Algeria, Mr. Carlos Eduardo Diaz Moreira, affirmed that the only solution guaranteeing the Sahrawi people’s right to determine their future in accordance with the principles and charter of the United Nations is self-determination.
During his speech at the opening of the Summer University for xecutives of the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi State, the Nicaraguan ambassador conveyed special greetings from the highest authorities of his country, President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, to the Sahrawi people and participants of the Summer University for Executives of the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi State.
The ambassador stated, "We extend our warm congratulations to the people and government of Nicaragua on the occasion of the opening of this 2025 Summer University edition, recognizing the importance of this platform for discussion, analysis, and the development of cognitive capacities to strengthen the executives of the Polisario Front."
He added, "We reaffirm our support and recognition of the Polisario Front as the legitimate representative of the Sahrawi people, which tirelessly struggles for the liberation of the occupied territories, decolonization, and the implementation of a self-determination referendum—the only solution that guarantees the Sahrawi people’s right to decide their future in accordance with the principles and charter of the United Nations."
