Bir Lehlou (Liberated Territories), July 30, 2025 (SPS) - The Polisario Front and the Government of the Sahrawi Republic affirmed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Information that exercising the right to self-determination constitutes the just and consensual solution to resolve the conflict in Western Sahara.

The Polisario Front and the Government of the Sahrawi Republic consider that what was stated yesterday in the speech of the King of the occupying state regarding his country's readiness to reach a "consensual solution" concerning the Sahrawi-Moroccan conflict, and that Morocco desires "a solution where there is no victor and no vanquished" and "saves face for all parties," they consider that the consensual solution was signed with the Polisario Front in 1991, after 16 years of war, under the supervision of the United Nations and the Organization of African Unity. This is the solution under which the Security Council established the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO).
The Government of the Sahrawi Republic and the Polisario Front also affirm that the consensual solution that saves face for everyone and where there is no victor and no vanquished is the democratic solution consistent with international legitimacy, which recognizes the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence, and at the same time does not recognize any Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara.
If Morocco is genuinely sincere and has good intentions, we are fully prepared to enter into direct, serious, and credible negotiations with it, sponsored by the United Nations, without dictates or preconditions, to reach the just and consensual solution that must respect the requirements of international legitimacy and the legal nature of the Western Sahara issue as decolonization. This solution opens horizons for peace, integration, and prosperity for all peoples of the region without exception, in an atmosphere of truth, justice, Maghreb integration, and solidarity.
