Frankfurt (Germany), July 29, 2025 (SPS) – The city of Frankfurt witnessed a prominent cultural event organized by the "Samara – Western Sahara Solidarity Frankfurt" initiative. The event featured the screening of the documentary film "Hiyouh" at the ExZess theater, as part of an ongoing program aimed at raising German awareness about the Sahrawi cause and shedding light on its humanitarian and cultural dimensions.
The initiative, known for its continuous activism in supporting the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination, has been organizing diverse political and cultural events since May 20 to inform the public about the suffering of Sahrawis under Moroccan occupation.
This event comes within the framework of a week full of activities in Germany in support of the Sahrawi cause. Over the past few days, Berlin has hosted several solidarity demonstrations, including the participation of the Tiris Tent at the Potsdamer Street Festival and the Cuba Si event, which featured informational tables on the Sahrawi issue. Both events provided an opportunity to explain the Sahrawi people's struggle and their humanitarian conditions to a broad audience.
Additionally, the representative of the Polisario Front in Germany took part in a three-day seminar on decolonization, serving as a crucial platform to contextualize the Sahrawi cause within the international framework as the last remaining colony in Africa.
