Geneva (Switzerland), July 1, 2025 (SPS) - During the ongoing session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, a documentary film by American journalist Amy Goodman, host of the internationally acclaimed daily news program "Democracy Now!", was screened on Sunday. The film is titled "Four Days in Occupied Western Sahara."
The film sheds light on the suffering of the Sahrawi people in the occupied part of Western Sahara.
This documentary, which helped break the siege imposed by Morocco on the occupied Sahrawi territories—as the film's producer and her team managed to enter Western Sahara despite strict censorship—offers a rare glimpse into what is happening inside Africa's last colony.
The documentary features testimonies from several Sahrawi activists who are victims of enforced disappearance, torture, and grave human rights violations. It also highlights the occupying administration's policy of preventing journalists, human rights defenders, and international organizations from visiting the occupied parts of Western Sahara.
