SADR takes part in African experts meeting on gender equality and women's empowerment

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Dec 06, 2017 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), participates in the second meeting of experts from African Union countries on gender equality and the empowerment of women.
The meeting held in the Ethiopian capital between December 4 and 8, aims to address the Declaration of the African Union on Gender Equality of 2016, and ways to channel its application.
The meeting is also expected to take the decision to revitalize  the Organization of African Women, as well as the Maputo Protocol on Women.

President Brahim Gali receives a Spanish delegation from Alicante

Chahid El Hafed, Dec 06, 2017 (SPS) - The President of the Republic , Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Gali, has received a Spanish delegation from Alicante at the headquarter of the Presidency.
The deputy, Mercedes García Alonso, who heads the delegation, expressed in statements to the press, after her meeting with the president, her happiness and satisfaction with her  visit to the Sahrawi institutions, as educational institutions, centers for the disabled and women.

Swedish MPs urge government to speed up Western Sahara decolonization

Stockholm, Dec 05, 2017 (SPS) - Swedish MPs urged their government to seize the seized the opportunity of their mandate as member of the UN Security Council to speed up the decolonization of Western Sahara and allow the Sahrawi people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination and independence. They also called to stop the planned plundering of the country’s natural resources, in violation of all relevant European and international resolutions.

Algiers (Algeria), Dec 05, 2017 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, stressed today at a press conference held in the headquarters of the Saharawi embassy in Algeria, that the Fifth Summit of Partnership between the African Union and the European Union, which took place last week in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, "demonstrated to Morocco and France that the Saharawi State is a irreversible reality "and, that the SADR is an" African State that cannot be ignored ".

UN Secretary-General appoints Colin Stewart of Canada as Special Representative for Western Sahara

New York, December 1, 2017 (SPS) - United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on Saturday announced the appointment of Colin Stewart of Canada as his Special Representative for Western Sahara and Head of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO).
Mr. Stewart succeeds Kim Bolduc of Canada, who completed her assignment on 22 November 2017. 

5th AU-EU Summit: SADR’s participation, “victory for Sahrawi people”

Abjdjan, Dec 1, 2017 (SPS) -President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and Secretary General of the Polisario Front Brahim Ghali affirmed Thursday that Western Sahara’s participation in the 5th African Union-European Union Summit in Abidjan was “a victory for the Sahrawi people and their just cause.”
