Algiers, 19 June 2021 (SPS) - The university professor and director of the Center for Western Sahara Studies at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Carlos Ruiz Miguela, returned to the decision of former U.S. President, Donald Trump, about the alleged "sovereignty of Morocco over Western Sahara," saying that this decision "undermines peace in North Africa."

Algiers, 19 June 2021 (SPS) - The latest developments of the Sahrawi issue as well as means and ways to strengthen the support to the Sahrawi people were Thursday at the heart of a political-diplomatic meeting in Algiers.
Organized jointly by the embassy of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and South Africa’s embassy in Algiers, the meeting was marked by the presence of 15 accredited ambassadors to Algeria representing African, Latino-American and Asian countries.

Spain: Hundreds march in support of Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination

Madrid, 19 June 2021 (SPS) - Hundreds of members of the civil society and political parties demonstrated Friday before the headquarters of Foreign Affairs Ministry in Madrid, calling on the Spanish government to assume its legal, political and historical responsibilities vis-à-vis the Sahrawi people and to help them to organize a referendum on self-determination.

Luanda (Angola), June 18, 2021 (SPS) - The ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Angola, Mr. Hamdi Jalil Meyara, met this Wednesday with Mr. Domingos Custódio Vieira, Minister of International Cooperation and Angolan Communities.

Algiers, 14 June 2021 (SPS) - The Security Council must assume its responsibilities vis-à-vis the issue of Western Sahara, Sahrawi Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Salek told the German channel Deutsche Welle.
The Sahrawi minister said he expected, notably from the USA and France, two permanent members of the Security Council, that they oblige Morocco to respect its own commitments concerning the issue of Western Sahara.
The Security Council’s passive position has had negative effects on the ground, according to him.

US Congress blocks inauguration of consulate in occupied Dakhla and armed drones sale for Morocco

Washington, 14 June 2021 (SPS) – In recent days, Morocco has suffered multiple diplomatic setbacks with regard to the Sahrawi question. It has gradually lost the American support expressed last December by former US President Donald Trump and has seen the European countries rejecting its alleged sovereignty over the Sahrawi territories.
The latest setback came from the US Congress, which blocked the inauguration of a consulate in occupied Dakhla and an operation of armed drones sale as well.

SPLA carries out new attacks against Moroccan occupation forces

Bir Lahlou, 13 June 2021 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) carried out Sunday new attacks against the positions of the Moroccan occupation army along the berm, said a communiqué of the Sahrawi Ministry of Defence.
According to the 214th communiqué, "SPLA units shelled the positions of the occupation forces in the region of Amekli Edachra Amkala and in the region of Oum Dakn in the El Bakari sector.

Paris, 13 June 2021 (SPS) - Sahrawi Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Salek said that it was high time for France and Spain to bring Morocco to the negotiating table with the Sahrawi officials and to cease the war that has been going on since last November in Western Sahara, making respect for the Sahrawi people’s alienable right to self-determination conditional on the resumption of negotiations.

Occupied El Aaiun, 13 June 2021 (SPS) – President of the Sahrawi Body against the Moroccan occupation (ISACOM), Aminatou Haidar welcomed, Friday, the decision of the European Parliament which unanimously condemns Morocco for blackmailing Spain by exploiting minors in "a purely inhuman and immoral collective immigration."
Despite this decision, "the Europen Parliament has not shed light on the real reasons behind the Moroccan obstinacy," due "to the negligence and complicity of the EU with the Moroccan occupier’s system.”

President Gali welcomes President Tebboune’s “clear, frank” positions

Algiers,June 11, 2021 (SPS) -  President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO Brahim Gali welcomed “the clear and frank” positions of the Algerian State and its President Abdelmadjid Tebboune vis-à-vis the Sahrawi cause.
President Gali received at the Army’s Central Hospital Mohamed-Seghir-Nekkache of Ain Naadja (Algiers) Sahrawi Prime Minister Bouchraya Hamoudi Beyoun who went to see him. President Gali’s health is clearly improving.

Minister of Health meets with her Algerian counterpart to discuss ways of collaboration

Algiers, June 10, 2021 (SPS) - The Minister of Public Health, Ms. Jira Bulahi, met this Wednesday with her Algerian counterpart, Mr. Abderrahm Bin Buzeid, to examine ways of collaboration and support for the Saharawi people, particularly in the current circumstances characterized by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In statements made to the SPS, Minister Bulahi said that "the talks also addressed various issues related to the health situation in the Saharawi refugee camps and the help that can be provided to face the COVID-19 pandemic."
