Madrid, Nov 3, 2012 (SPS) - The Spanish Coordination of Associations Supporting the Saharawi People (CEAS-Sahara) has condemned the acts of violence and serious escalation of repression by Moroccan forces in the occupied city of El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, in parallel with the visit by the UN Special Envoy Christopher Ross to the occupied Saharawi territories.
In a statement issued Friday, the Coordination observed again Moroccan security’s resorting to force and violence against the peaceful demonstrations organized by the Saharawis in the occupied Western Sahara.
The statement indicated that these incidents clearly show that the basic rights of the Saharawi people in occupied Western Sahara being systematically violated, and the pace of violence escalated.
CEAS-Sahara asked the movement of solidarity with the Saharawi people and Spanish civil society for the mobilization to oppose the suffering the Saharawis face.
It also called for an extensive participation at the annual demonstration, to be organized this November, to denounce Madrid Tripartite Accord of 1975 that brought tragedy and dispersion to the Saharawi people. (SPS)
