EUCOCO denounces European citizens’ expulsion by Morocco from occupied Al-Aiun

Brussels, Nov 15, 2012 (SPS)– European Coordination of support to the Saharawi people (EUCOCO) denounced the expulsion by Morocco, of European parliamentarians, journalists and activists of human rights from occupied Al-Aiun last week.

 

“Here's how the Moroccan authorities intend to response the vists to Al Aiun by Personal Envoy of the Secretary General of the UN, Mr. Christopher Ross, who wanted to realize the situation of the rights of Saharawis in the Western Sahara occupied by Moroccan forces ", said the chairman of the EUCOCO task force, Pierre Galand, in a statement.

 

Last week, President of Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front has condemned in letter to the UN Secretary General, Ban ki-moon . the expulsion of 22 international observers from occupied territories by the Moroccan authorities of occupation,  describing  it as  " clear attempt to avoid any witness for its barbaric repression against the Saharawi defenseless citizens”,

 

Moroccan occupation authorities on 7th November have expelled by force 18 Spanish and 4 Norwegian international observers from occupied Al Aiun. (SPS)
