Conclusion of 3rd working day on "renewed partnership for a unified approach to end hunger in Africa," with participation of SADR

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) July 2, 2013 (SPS) -The third day work of the High-Level Meeting on "renewed partnership for a unified approach to eradicate hunger in Africa," had been concluded in Addis Ababa on Monday with the participation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic

 

According to a media statement issued by the said meeting, the meeting brings together the African Union and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and the Brazilian Lula Da Silva Institute, as well as representatives of international organizations, civil society, private sector, cooperatives, farmers, youth and the academic community.

 

The meeting was concluded by ratifying a final statement included the insistence of Heads of States and Governments of the African Union on the eradication of poverty in the continent by 2025. And commitment to implement plans and programs of the African Union on combating hunger and achieve food security in Africa as well as increase domestic investment and encourage the private sector to greater productivity in the field of agriculture and development.

 

It should be recalled that a delegation led by Senior Advisor and Acting Sahrawi Mission in Addis Ababa, Baba Omar Albardi, has represented the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic in the works of the meeting. (SPS)
