Minister of Public Health holds talks with his South African counterpart

Johannesburg, Aug 4, 2013 (SPS) -The Minister of Public Health Mr. Mohamed Lamin Dadi held Friday talks with the Minister of Health of the Republic of South Africa Mr. Aaron Motsoaledi, on the sidelines of the International Conference on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health in Africa, hosted by South Africa from 1 to 3 August 2013.


The two sides exchanged views on various issues and challenges facing the governments of the two countries, particularly regarding the improvement of mothers and children’s health.


The meeting was an opportunity to inform the South African minister about the latest developments on Saharawi question, harsh conditions in the Saharawi refugee camps, in addition to Saharawi state’s efforts to create a health system able to respond to requirements of the reality of asylum.


The Saharawi minister presented to his counterpart a booklet containing the experience of Saharawi state in the field of public health, conveying the Saharawi people and government’s wishes for the immediate recovery of the great African leader Nelson Mandela.


He, finally, pledged to continue consultations on the issues of concern to the governments of both countries in the area of public health. (SPS)
