East Timor reiterates full support to Saharawi cause

Dili (East Timor) December 12, 2014 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of East Timor, Jose Luis Guterres, renewed Thursday at the headquarters of his ministry, his country's support to the Saharawi cause in all international forums.

 

During a meeting with the Saharawi ambassador in Dili, Mohamed Slama, Mr. José Guterres said that "the government of East Timor has always expressed in all international forums where it participated, its firm position on the Saharawi cause" stressing that "despite the difficult conditions in which is our newly independent country, despite the current global economic crisis," Timor considers their support to the cause of the Saharawi people as a sacred principle in its foreign policy. "

 

Meanwhile the Saharawi Ambassador conveyed to his host the satisfaction of SADR government for the good bilateral relations that unite the two countries and peoples and briefed him on the latest developments of the national cause, in particular, the obstacles imposed by Morocco to the peace plan, ongoing violations of human rights and plunder of natural resources in occupied Western Sahara.
