Occupied Dakhla: injured and arrests following Moroccan forces’ intervention on peaceful demonstration

Dakhla (occupied territories), Nov 4, 2012 (SPS) - The Moroccan repressive forces intervened violently late last night against a peaceful demonstration in the occupied city of Dakhla to protest Moroccan repression on the Saharawis, leaving tens injured and wounded as well as cases of arrests, a source from the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad told SPS.


The demonstrators raised flags of the Saharawi Republic, chanted slogans calling for independence of Western Sahara and denouncing the repression carried out by Moroccan against the unarmed Saharawi civilians.


The same source said that Dakhla streets witnessed skirmishes following the demonstration.


Among those arrested were Sidati Greimich and Omar Ould Abbaha and others.


In relevant context, the occupied city of Smara also witnessed yesterday night massive demonstrations in favour of the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence. (SPS)
