Boujedour (Refugee Camps)- A framework agreement was signed Saturday, in Boujedour (Sahrawi refugee camp), between the minister of Culture and Arts and her counterpart of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) about the strengthening of cultural cooperation and the creation of a Sahrawi national theatre.
In an address following the signing of the agreement, Soraya Mouloudji, who is on a visit to the Sahrawi refugee camps, said the agreement's signing was aimed at strengthening the relations of fraternity between the Algerian people and Saharawi people.
She added that it would step up cooperation in various fields and artistic specialties, including the creation of Sahrawi theatre, to help Sahrawi people make their cause known worldwide, through culture.
"The initiative of creating a national theatre for the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) is a long-standing cultural tradition and a cultural step towards the future of Western Sahara people's national sovereignty on his own territory," the minister said.
