Sahrawi civil prisoner starts hunger strike in the central prison in Kenitra - Morocco

Kenitra (Morocco) January 17, 2023 (SPS) - The Sahrawi civil prisoner within the group of Ghdim Izik, Abdallah al-Wali Lakhfaouni, who is imprisoned in the Kenitra central prison, north of Rabat, the Moroccan capital, announced yesterday, his intention to start a warning hunger strike for 48 hours, January 16 and 17, 2023, according to the Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners.

The same source added that the reasons behind this hunger strike are due to the denial of the right of Abdallahi Lekhfaouni to continue distance education, in addition to the unavailability of healthy living conditions inside the prison and medical care, as he suffers from chronic diseases.

The Sahrawi civil prisoner is going on a warning hunger strike, said the same source, to denounce the policy of racial discrimination and the intended medical negligence against him by the administration of the prison.
