46th EUCOCO: Struggle of Sahrawi people reaches "decisive stage"

Berlin, 3 December 2022 (SPS) - Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, in charge in Europe and European Union (EU), Oubi Bushraya Bachir, indicated in Berlin that the struggle of the Sahrawi people has reached a "decisive stage" towards victory against the Moroccan occupier.
Speaking at the 46th conference of the European Coordination for Support and Solidarity with the Saharawi People (EUCOCO) which ends Saturday in the German capital, Oubi Bushraya stressed that the struggle of the Sahrawi people has reached a "decisive stage" towards victory and that "it (the Sahrawi people) is winning the battle, but more pressure must be exerted on Morocco."
At the same time, the Sahrawi diplomat said that Madrid's change of position on the issue of Western Sahara has given rise to a "greater impetus to Spanish solidarity with the Saharawi people.
For him, "it is essential to redouble our efforts and seize this kind of meeting, that of EUCOCO, to draw the fundamental lines of the continuation of the struggle of the Sahrawi people".
The 46th EUCOCO Conference is an important event of the international movement of solidarity with the Saharawi people in which European, Latin American and African parliamentarians as well as diplomatic delegations participate.
The event was also attended by trade unions, NGOs, lawyers, personalities from the world of culture and members of associations in solidarity with the Saharawi people.
The Sahrawi delegation is led by Prime Minister, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Bushraya Hamoudi Bayoun, accompanied by Minister of Cooperation, Fatma Mehdi, and diplomat Oubi Bushraya Bachir.
Several points were discussed during the conference, which began on Friday. In addition to the failure of the international community to complete the process of decolonization of the last colony in Africa, the participants discussed the current situation marked by the resumption of armed struggle since the violation of the ceasefire by Morocco on November 13, 2020, the legal battle against the illegal exploitation of natural resources of the Saharawi people and the violation of human rights in the occupied Saharawi territories.
