The Preparatory Committee announces date and place of holding the 16th Conference of the Polisario Front

Shahid Al-Hafed, October 27, 2022 (SPS) - The Preparatory Committee for the 16th Conference of the Polisario Front announced, today the date, place and emblem of the 16th Conference of the Polisario Front.

The Chairperson of the preparatory committee for the conference, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Mr. Hamma Salama, announced in a press conference that the conference will be held on January 13 to 17, 2023 in the Wilaya of Dakhla, under the emblem “Escalating the fighting to expel the occupation and complete sovereignty”, and it will bear the name of the martyr Amhmed Khadad Moussa.

Mr. Hamma Salama added that the 16th conference of the Polisario Front is being held at a time different from previous conferences as a result of the resumption of armed struggle and what it requires in terms of mechanisms to keep pace with the stage, noting that it is also held under very complex national, regional and international conditions, the Corona pandemic and its effects, the Russian-Ukrainian war and its consequences at international level.

The Chairperson of the Preparatory Committee indicated that the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front has set goals that must be achieved, taking into account the current situation, adding that the Preparatory Committee is working on with its partners from the government and national institutions in order to contribute to the success of this important event.

In his response to the progress of the committee’s work in the light of the work of its sub-committees, Hamma Salama explained that the sub-committees (military, security, political, administrative, legal, economic and social), have started working to prepare their reports to be submitted to the Preparatory Committee for discussion and enrichment.

When addressing the regional and international situation, Hamma Salama praised the pioneering role played by Algeria in the regional and international arena, praising the occasion for its firm stances towards the just cause of the Sahrawi people.
