Ghali stresses that Sanchez's latest position does not absolve Spain of its historical responsibility towards Sahrawi people

Auserd (Sahrawi Refugee Camps), October 12, 2022 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, stressed that the last position of the Spanish Prime Minister towards the Sahrawi issue does not absolve Spain of its historical responsibilities towards the Sahrawi people.
President Brahim Ghali regretted the recent position of the Spanish Prime Minister, in which he supports the policy of expansion and aggression pursued by the Moroccan occupation state in the Western Sahara and in the entire region, adding that he is sticking the same knife in the same bloody wound that Spain caused, with a treacherous stab For the Sahrawi people, through the disastrous and criminally Madrid Agreement of 1975
The President of the Republic also indicated, in his speech during the celebrations of the 47th anniversary of national unity, “that regardless of some shameful positions and decisions, Spain cannot evade its legal, political and moral responsibilities towards the decolonization of Western Sahara, and to implement its commitment and duty as a colonial and managing power to enable the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to Self-determination and independence.
Brahim Ghali expressed his confidence that these positions do not represent the position of the Spanish peoples, who have the strongest relations of friendship and neighborliness with the Sahrawi people and a common history, and who are adherent to the support of the Sahrawi people and their just struggle.
The President of the Republic added “as a shining proof of this fact, the Wilaya of Auserd is hosting the seventeenth edition of the International Film Festival in Western Sahara, FiSahara, which embodies one of the most wonderful messages of solidarity and support”.
He warmly greeted all the organizers and participants of the “FiSahara” distinguished event for their successful selection of the 7th edition’s logo “Completion of decolonization from Western Sahara”.
