Announcement of return of “Fi-Sahara” Film Festival in its 17th edition

Madrid, 8 October 2022 (SPS) - The 17th edition of the Film Festival "Fi-Sahara" was announced Friday in Madrid, Spain, from 11 to 16 October, under the slogan "Let's end colonialism in Western Sahara".
The official presentation ceremony of the Festival was attended by the Representative of the Polisario Front in Spain, Mr. Abdullah Arabi, and the Executive Director of the Festival, Ms. Maria Carrion, in addition to film actors Carlos Bardem and Pepe Viyuela.
In his speech during the presentation ceremony, Abdullah Arabi stressed that the “Fi-Sahara” Film Festival is a tool to denounce the injustice suffered by the Sahrawi people and to demand a quick and just solution and the decolonization of Western Sahara as required by international law.
About  200 important figures from the world of cinema from twenty countries, including Norway, the United States of America, France, Mexico, Colombia, Italy, Argentina, the Netherlands and Burkina Faso, will participate in the “Fi-Sahara” Film Festival. More than 20 films will be screened at this film event, and Spanish cinema will take a special place.
