Launch of Peru-SADR Parliamentary Friendship Front

Lima (Peru) September 14, 2022 (SPS) - The Chairperson of the Labor Committee of the Peruvian Congress, Ms. Sigrid Bazan, announced on Tuesday in a tweet on her twitter account, the establishment of the Peruvian-Sahrawi Parliamentary Friendship Front, as a part of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Ms. Sigrid Bazan, published in her tweet a statement issued by the Peruvian-Sahrawi Parliamentary Friendship Front, in which is indicated that this step comes in order to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, and to supporting the Sahrawi people and his struggle for sovereignty and independence over his entire territory.
The statement also indicated that the Sahrawi people is among the colonial peoples and countries that should enjoy independence as stated in United Nations General Assembly Resolution No. 1514, which declares the granting of independence to colonial countries and peoples.
The statement of the Peruvian-Sahrawi Parliamentary Friendship Front added that the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Peru and the Sahrawi Republic on September 8, 2021, comes in order to express support and solidarity with the Sahrawi people's struggle for sovereignty and independence over his entire territory.
