More than 200 runners from 14 nationalities take part in 22nd edition of Sahara Marathon

Wilaya of Smara (Refugee Camps), 27 February 2022 (SPS) - The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Salama Youssef, confirmed that the 22nd edition of the Sahara Marathon sports event will witness the participation of more than 200 runners representing 14 nationalities from different countries of the world.
He indicated in a press conference, he held alongside the organizers of the 22nd edition of the event, that the event will witness the participation of more than 200 runners representing 14 countries from around the world, such as Spain, Croatia, Algeria, Britain, Belgium and Switzerland.
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports thanked the participants for their presence alongside the Sahrawi people, noting that their participation is a form of solidarity with the Sahrawi people.
Besides being a form of solidarity with the Sahrawi cause by means of sports, the Sahara Marathon sports event is also an opportunity to exchange and develop experiences for the Sahrawi managers in preparation for organizing professional national marathons in the future. It is similarly an opportunity to discover Sahrawi talents internally and externally to participate in continental and international competitions.
