Cuba supports Sahrawi government with 458,000 doses of Soberana 02 vaccine to fight Coronavirus

Havana, 26 February 2022 (SPS) -  Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Déborah Rivas Saavedra, and Deputy Director of the Finlay Vaccine Institute (IFV), Yuri Valdés Balbín, has supervised the handing over 458,000 doses of Soberana 02 vaccine to the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic to Cuba, Omar Bulsan, in the presence of the staff of the Saharawi Embassy and officials and workers of the IFV, in addition to various Cuban media.
The deputy director of the IFV welcomed the delegation of the Sahrawi Embassy, stressing that this contribution of the IFV is a humanitarian support to the Sahrawi people as an expression of solidity of the relations between the two countries and peoples.
For her part, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment reiterated Cuba's position in support of the Sahrawi cause, expressing her pride in assisting the Sahrawi people in the pandemic of handing over a significant amount of doses to the Sahrawi Government.
The Sahrawi ambassador thanked Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and the Cuban people for this humanitarian gesture which embodies the positions of brotherhood, friendship and solidarity between the two peoples and countries.
