CONASADH: The Moroccan occupation misleads public opinion in a new failed masquerade against Khaya family

Submitted on

Bir Lehlou (Saharawi Republic) 14 February 2022 (SPS)- Sahrawi National Committee for Human Rights (CONASADH) denounced, in a Press release this evening, that the Moroccan authorities of occupation carried out a new masquerade against Sultana Khaya and her family yesterday, moving their forces away from the vicinity of Khaya’s sieged house before its intelligence agents filmed the surroundings, in preparation for a delegation from the Moroccan Council for Human Rights, who was planning to visit the sieged family.
The release indicated that the Sahrawi human rights activist, Sultana Khaya, and her family members, who have been sieged in their house by Moroccan police since November 19, 2020, completely refused to allow the Moroccan delegation to enter the house, stressing that they do not recognize the Moroccan authority and all its complicit institutions.
The release stated that this Moroccan Council is nothing but a tool of the Moroccan occupation that works to whitewash the stained image of the forces occupation, cover up their crimes and violations, and plead on their behalf in international human rights platforms.
The Saharawi Committee called on international bodies and organizations, mainly the Committee of the International Red Cross, to intervene urgently, recalling this international body of its responsibility towards the occupied Western Sahara, as a non-self-governing country whose people have not yet enjoyed their right to self-determination and independence.
CONASADH further recalled that the Moroccan authorities have no sovereignty or international legitimacy over Western Sahara and so are its institutions. (SPS)
