Timor-Leste’s National Parliament votes for a resolution to constitute a Parliamentary Commission of Support to the Referendum of Self-determination in Western Sahara‏‏

Dili (East Timor) October 19, 2021 (SPS) - Timor-Leste’s National Parliament in Solidarity with the Saharawi just cause approved a through a vote Monday 18 October 2021 a resolution to constitute a Parliamentary Commission of Support to the Referendum of Self-determination in Western Sahara and to accompany the issue of Western Sahara.
The Saharawi Republic (SADR) Ambassador in the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Mr. Malainin Abba said on this important occasion “First of all, on behalf of the Government of the Saharawi Republic (SADR) and the Saharawi people I would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the National Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste for this advanced stand which means a lot for the Saharawi people long march for Self-determination and Independence.
The Timorese National Parliament approval yesterday of a resolution to constitute a Parliamentary Commission of Support to the Referendum of Self-determination in Western Sahara and to accompany the issue of Western Sahara is great Solidarity stand and a real Commitment from the Parliament, the Political Parties represented in National Parliament and the Timorese people at large towards the Struggle of the Saharawi people to exercise their right to free Self-determination, Independence and full Sovereignty over the Saharawi Republic (SADR).
This important position expresses clearly the consensus in the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste; it’s National Parliament, the Government, Political Parties and Civil Society on the issue of the Struggle of Liberation, Self-determination and independence of Western Sahara. This advanced Stand of support has its roots in the common historical struggle against illegal occupation and colonialism and the crystal clear similarity to the struggle for Self-determination of the brotherly people of Timor-Leste that had conducted to regain their Independence.”
