Africa Day: place is a testament to the AU's commitment to its basic principles

Bir Lahlou (liberated territories), May 26, 2021 (SPS) - The Foreign Ministry affirmed on Tuesday that the place of the Sahrawi state within the African community as well as the support enjoyed its cause despite conspiracies aimed at the extermination of the Saharawi people, testified the strong attachment of the continental organization to the supreme principles and objectives for which it was created.
In a statement made public on the occasion of the celebration of Africa Day, the MFA indicated that "the proclamation by the African heads of state who wrested their independence in the early 1960s, of the creation of 'a continental organization aimed to strengthen and support the African peoples struggling against occupation and apartheid ".
"The unanimity of African heads of state on the imperative decolonization of the continent has enabled the Organization of African Unity (OAU) to stand out among other international and regional organizations through its mission of liberation and the defense of peoples' rights to self-determination and independence, "the ministry maintains.SPS
