Shaheed El-Hafed, July 15, 2018 (SPS) - The National Secretariat of the Polisario Front renewed its sincere will to cooperate with the United Nations efforts to complete the decolonization of the last colony in Africa, welcoming in this context the efforts of UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, and his Personal Envoy, President Horst Koehler.
After having warned at the end of its 8th ordinary session that the policy of intransigence and obstruction of Morocco threatens peace and stability in the region, the National Secretariat stressed that it is time for the UN Security Council to adopt strict measures to push the Kingdom of Morocco to comply with international legitimacy and thus end the illegal Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara and the empowerment of the of the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to independence like all colonial peoples and countries.
In this context, the National Secretariat recalled the Polisario Front commitment to the requirements of the Cease-fire Agreement and Military Agreement No. 1, and reiterated its readiness to cooperate with the efforts of the UN Secretary-General to resolve the problems resulting from the blatant Moroccan breach through the opening of a crossing and a road in the military wall in the region of El-Guerguerat.
