Defence Minister reaffirms Sahrawi State's sovereignty over liberated territories

Tifariti (liberated territories), May 20, 2018 (SPS)- The celebration of national days in liberated territories was meant to reaffirm Sahrawi State's sovereignty over these territories, said the Sahrawi Defence Minister, member of the National Secretariat of Polisario Front, Abdallah Lahbib.

Guest on a Sahrawi radio programme, Lahbib said that the celebration of national days in the liberated territories, like the 45th anniversary of the national day of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (ALPS), on 20 May, aimed at reaffirming "the sovereignty of the State of Western Sahara over these territories."

"ALPS is present in these territories since 1975, and a large part of these territories was liberated in the seventies of the past century," underlined Lahbib.

In this regard, he reaffirmed "ALPS readiness to defend these territories and pay a heavy toll to recover the Sahrawi State's sovereignty over all its territories."

Polisario Front is celebrating the 45th anniversary of the outbreak of the Sahrawi armed struggle under the high patronage of the President of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and Secretary General of Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, in presence of national and foreign delegations and the media.

This celebration is taking place in a context marked by several diplomatic and legal victories snatched by the Sahrawi people, who are struggling for their right to self-determination. (SPS)
