Chahid El Hafed,  Feb 27, 2018 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO expressed its satisfaction with the European Court of Justice ruling today, which excludes the territorial waters of Western Sahara from the fishing agreement between Morocco and the European Union.
POLISARIO, in accordance with the decision of the European Court of Justice, called on all vessels fishing in the territorial waters of Western Sahara to withdraw immediately from their positions.

It also called on EU to stop all funding in Western Sahara under its agreements with Morocco, calling on him to immediately start negotiations with the Frente POLISARIO, the legitimate and sole representative of the Saharawi people to prepare legal fishing agreements.

Frente POLISARIO will undertake all legal procedures, including legal proceedings and appeals on the responsibilities of the European Union, to recover all the money it had paid to Morocco over the past decades under their bilateral agreements. He considered that the decision of the European Court today is the greatest gift to the Sahrawi people on the occasion of the 42nd National Day, says Emhamed Khadad, POLISARIO coordinator with the Minurso.

Under the European Court's judgment, Morocco and the Western Sahara are separate and different regions, and reaffirm that Morocco has no sovereignty over Western Sahara and its territorial waters.SPS
