Gali thanks African countries having backed SADR’s participation in Abidjan Summit

Abidjan, Nov 29, 2017 (SPS) -President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Brahim Gali on Wednesday “warmly thanked” African countries, notably Algeria, which backed SADR’s participation in the African Union-European Union (AU-EU) Summit taking place in the Ivorian capital.

“I warmly thank the countries that backed and militated for SADR’s participation in the Summit, headed by Algeria,” Gali told the press on the sidelines of the Summit.

“The support of these countries has been unanimously adopted by the AU as all member countries of the Union attend the summits and other meeting initiated by the Union and other international and regional organizations,” said Gali.

“I will never stop emphasizing the active role of the countries that helped us, particularly Algeria, South Africa, Nigeria, Angola, Mozambique, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Mauritania and other countries, which supported and approved the decision taken by the AU on the participation of all state members in all the events attended by the Union,” he stated.

Gali also called SADR’s participation in the Abidjan Summit “a great achievement and a resounding victory for the Sahrawi people and cause.”

“Our presence has been made possible thanks to the strong and courageous position of the AU, which militates for a united and indivisible Africa, as well as the freedom and dignity of African peoples, in accordance with the constitutive Chart of the pan-African Organization,” stressed Ghali.

The Sahrawi President arrived yesterday in Abidjan to partake in the AU-EU Summit. He is accompanied by a strong delegation made up of many ministers and advisors.SPS
