Boukhari reaffirms SADR’s particpation in next AU-EU Summit

Bojador (Sahrawi refugee camps) Oct 19, 2017 (SPS) -  The representative of the Frente POLISARIO to the United Nations Ahmed Bujari reaffirmed Tuesday, in Bojador (Sahrawi refugee camps), the participation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in the 5th African Union-European Union Summit, scheduled on 29-30 November in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), in the same way as all AU’s member States.

“SADR’s participation in the meeting of partnership between AU and EU, scheduled shortly in the Ivorian capital, is part of the credibility of the European Union,” said Bujari in a press conference held on the eve of the first visit of the personal envoy of the United Nations Secretary General for Western Sahara Horst Kohler to the Sahrawi refugee camps.

The Sahrawi diplomat underlined the “discontent of AU’s bodies in Addis Ababa” about this issue, pointing out that they sent a “clear warning” to the Ivorian authorities following their decision not to send an invitation to SADR as AU’s member State to take part in the meeting of partnership between Africans and Europeans.

“So either Abidjan sends an invitation to all the member States of the African Union, or the event will be held in the Ethiopian capital,” he warned.

AU’s executive Council, met on Monday in an extraordinary session, reaffirmed the right of all AU’s member States to take part in the 5th AU-EU Summit, scheduled in Abidjan on 29-30 November.SPS
